The Donor Charter provides an assurance to our donors, guaranteeing that all fundraising activities meet rigorous standards of accountability and ethical conduct.
To be assured that gifts will be used effectively in accordance with donors’ wishes. Any alternative uses for designated donations will be discussed with donors in advance.
To be assured that all donations, when undesignated, will be allocated to purposes that the University considers appropriate to support its strategic development.
To receive appropriate and timely acknowledgement, recognition and publicity for donation, with the option for complete anonymity if preferred.
To be informed about the impact of their benefactions and the University’s evolving needs and priorities through regular progress reports and updates on their supported projects or activities.
To have access to the most recently published financial statements of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation and relevant financial information about their supported projects or activities.
To be invited as members of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation upon reaching aggregate donations of HK$20,000 or more, with access to exclusive privileges and benefits offered by the University.
To be assured that all donation-related information is handled with respect and strict confidentiality.
To be assured that donor privacy rights are fully protected and that their personal information will be handled in full compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
To access or rectify personal data held by the University. Such requests can be submitted in writing to the University Advancement Office or the Secretariat of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation.
To opt out of our mailing lists for University updates and event invitations; and to be consulted prior to any disclosure of personal contact details to third parties, whether within or outside the University.
To receive prompt, truthful and forthright responses to donation-related enquiries and other aspects of the University.
