Cancellation of “HKBU‧ASHWORTH Golf Day 2025”
Fundraising proceeds to support residents affected by Wang Fuk Court fire

 

We are deeply saddened by the tragic fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. In solidarity with the affected community, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the “HKBU‧ASHWORTH Golf Day 2025”, which was scheduled for 28 November 2025.

 

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Chan Yin Chuen Memorial Charitable Foundation, Ashworth, Regal Holdings Corporation, the Hong Kong Golf Club, Compass Holdings Ltd., and all donors and partners of the event. With extraordinary generosity, they have waived cancellation-related costs and agreed that the event’s net proceeds (after deducting the portion already applied towards our interdisciplinary research projects under the HKSAR Government’s Research Matching Grant Scheme) be donated in full to the affected residents and their families in support of post-disaster relief.

 

We continue to receive generous offers of support from across the community. Should you wish to contribute through the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation, please consider donating via one of the following methods:

 

1. By bank transfer:

   Please deposit your donation into the Hang Seng Bank account of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation (account no.: 024-283-338366-019) and include “taipofire” as the transaction remark. After making your donation, please email a screenshot of the transaction record together with your name and contact number to golfday@hkbu.edu.hk.

2. By cheque:

   Please make a crossed cheque payable to “Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation” and write the donor’s name, contact number, and “taipofire” on the back. Cheques should be mailed to: University Advancement Office, Hong Kong Baptist University, Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong.

 

Donations will be accepted until 8 December (Monday). All funds received will be used in full to help the affected residents and aid the community’s recovery.
