Visit by Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council

A delegation of 11 members from the Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council (YIC), led by its President, Mrs. Pauline Ngan, visited the University on 9 March 2012.

Professor Albert Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Pauline Ngan and all members of YIC for taking time out from their busy schedules to visit HKBU. Professor Chan appreciated the staunch efforts that YIC made to the industrial development of Hong Kong. He hoped its members could have a better understanding of HKBU's development during the visit and looked forward to collaborating with YIC in nurturing future leaders for the community.

In her remarks, Mrs. Ngan said that YIC had been striving to contribute to the industrial development, economic growth and prosperity of Hong Kong and mainland China. YIC put much emphasis on youth education and had launched a series of seminars and internship programme to enhance young people's understanding of the latest industrial development. Mrs. Ngan also expressed her wish to take this opportunity to strengthen the ties between YIC and HKBU for future collaboration.

The visit began with an introduction on the development of the School of Business by Professor Stephen Cheung, BBS, JP, Dean of Business. The delegation then visited the Academy of Film and the School of Chinese Medicine. The members were warmly received by Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research & Development); Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Professor Emilie Yeh, Professor of Academy of Film; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement; and representatives of the School of Chinese Medicine.
