Officiating at the Naming Ceremony were Mr. Kwok Ka Hing, Mr. Kwok Ka Sing and Mr. Kwok Ka Ching, representatives of the Kwok Chung Bo Fun Charitable Fund; Mr. Wilfred Wong, SBS, JP, Chairman of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation and Chairman of the Council and the Court; Mr. Cheng Yan Kee, JP, Deputy Chairman of the Council and the Court; Mr. William Leung, BBS, JP, Treasurer of the Council and the Court; and Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor.

In his speech, Mr. Wilfred Wong said the AAB and the Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Sports and Cultural Centre have become striking HKBU landmarks. The two buildings also marked the successful completion of phase 3 of the University's Campus Expansion Plan launched in 2007, which aims at increasing the floor area of the University and upgrading the campus environment and facilities.

Mr. Wong also thanked the Kwok Chung Bo Fun Charitable Fund for making a generous donation to HKBU to establish the "Mr. Kwok Yat Wai and Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Graduate School Development Fund" and "The Faith‧Hope‧Love Endowment Fund"  in support of the teaching and research activities of HKBU's Graduate School and student character development programmes. He said in recognition of the Fund's generosity, the University named the newly constructed sports and cultural building the Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Sports and Cultural Centre. The 3-storey building houses a multi-purpose hall, a symposium and a rooftop recreation area.

In his vote of thanks, Professor Albert Chan said these new buildings provided the much-needed space and facilities for interactive teaching and learning for our students and enhanced the University's provision of Whole Person Education. He also thanked Mr. Kwok Ka Sing's generous support for the University's Character Development Fund.

The ceremonies were well-attended by supporters and friends of HKBU, such as Ms. Delia Chan, Mr. Leon Chan, Mr. and Mrs. William Hui, Dr. Joseph Lee, SBS, JP, Mr. David Mong and Mr. So Chung Ping.  Members of the Council and the Court, staff and students of the University also attended the event.
