HKBU receives generous donation from Kwok Chung Bo Fun Charitable Fund in support of the development of Graduate School and students' character development programmes

In appreciation of a generous donation from the Kwok Chung Bo Fun Charitable Fund, a Donation Agreement Signing and Cheque Presentation Ceremony was held on 21 November 2011 at the University. The donation is designated for the establishment of the "Mr. Kwok Yat Wai and Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Graduate School Development Fund" and "The Faith.Hope.Love Endowment Fund", in support of the Graduate School and the students' character development programmes.

At the Ceremony, Mr. Kwok Ka Sing (left) and Mr. Kwok Ka Ching (right) said that they greatly appreciated HKBU's unique vision of Whole Person Education with a Christian tradition. Professor Albert Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Kwok family for their ardent support towards HKBU. The donation would enable the University to enhance the quality of its teaching and research initiatives. In recognition of the donors' generosity, the University will name the Cultural and Recreation Centre being constructed on the Shaw Campus the "Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Cultural and Recreation Centre". It is expected to be completed by late 2012.

The Ceremony was well attended by Professor Franklin Luk, Vice-President (Academic);  Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research & Development); Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Mr. Alex Shuen, Director of Finance; Rev. Dr. Ip King Tak, Chaplain; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement; and Dr. Vicky Wong, Assistant Academic Registrar of the Graduate School.  A lunch gathering was held after the Ceremony and the Kwok brothers shared their wise counsel regarding the University's developments with our representatives.
